my blasted heater (update!)

ok ok ok....

you all know my living quarters is nothing
but a cursed piece of shit...

and you all know that my heater had to be
'fixed' and blah blah blah....

ok... here's the update....

i got a call from my landlord on thursday
(11/13/03) saying that he has 'some guys'
coming over on friday to fix my shit.

ok... so these dudes come over (about 8.30
am)...
and tug out my previous furnace... this
took all of about an hour (i am assuming
simply because i didn't hawk-eye the time)....

during this time, the question was raised
about whether or not it was legal to install
a new electric furnace beneath my stairs
since it was illegal that a gas one was in there.
their answer: 'you'd have to talk to my
boss about that.'

after they pull it out, they tell me that
they have to return to 'the shop' to
'build some things' so that the new furnace
can be installed.

i say 'ok... just call me when you are on
your way back'... as i had shit to do and
i wasn't gonna sit around waiting if it
was gonna take them all day.

i get a phone call from 'their boss' at
10 am... saying that they were 'on their way'
back to my place to put the new bastard in.

time rolls on....

at 11am i decide to fuck 'em off and go do
some shit i had to do... i don't expect that
when someone says they are 'on their way',
it would take a fucking hour to return.

so i'm out n' about town and i get a fucking
call from the fucking asshole boss asking
me wtf i was.... i'm gonna guestimate and
say that this call was at around noon....

i said i was in town and i would be done
in about 30 minutes so they could be back
at my place in that time.

the muther fucker got pissed and told me
that he had 'other calls' to other homes
he had to make and he didn't wanna play
this shit. i said something about how he
said that they were 'on their way' and i
waited a fucking HOUR before i left.

he claimed that he made no such comment...
and that removing and replacing the furnace
was going to take all day as it was...

now let me take a break and give my usual comment:

THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!!!!!


*ahem*

yeah... so anyway.... the boss is told that
i would be back home in 30 minutes... but
if he had something he had to do in that
time, to go ahead and do it....

guess what, folks....

i didn't hear nor see from those assholes
for the rest of the fucking day.... [img]mad.gif[/img]

even my landlord tried calling them... and
said he never got an answer....

later in the day... prolly about 5pm...
my landlord calls again and asks if i had
heard from the furnace guys... i said 'no'
but i still had their fucking shop vac,
hanging lantern thing, and some tools...
so if they wanted them back... they will
most certainly have to come and get them...

(did i mention how i've always wanted one
of those shop vacs??? muuuuahahahahahah)

so my landlord asked if i had any floor
heaters or some shit like that....

yeah... i keep them out back... in the
carport... with my fucking mercedes....

he said he'd bring a heater by... simply
because he feared it would be really cold
this weekend....

so he comes over carrying a small appliance
about the size of a fucking CAN OPENER...
and tells me 'this should work'


needless to say..... my whole fucking weekend
seems ridiulously banal and irritating...
and handing me that can opener thinking
that its gonna supply me with heat...

Trampis's advice,if they come back,make sure they are coming back to do the install,not get there stuff.Leave the door locked and talk through it when they comeback,just to make sure of there intentions.

Did you offer them tea and biscuits when they first arrived? i bet that would have made all the difference. It's surprising how far a bit of sugar and water will go

if it makes ya fee l Shatzy last year on Dec 19 our gas furnace started emitting an odor or jsut say it was giving us a headache. Wife called the Gas co and they red flagged it and shut it off. IT WAS FREEKING COLD. and since we just bought the house we live a yr or so earier.. that BIG ASS bill, well guess who got to pay it? New furnace 8 days before xmas and had to get it installed with people in an out of your house all day mucking up everything with dirty boots. $2000 OUCH but ya know... was nice to have warm feeties on Xmas [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
